Catch Up

So life has been pretty busy recently and I haven't really kept up on things lately.  In all honesty, I haven't been reading much for fun either.  Part of the reason is that my roommate works super early so I feel bad staying up later than her but the guilt is fading. Anyway, I am still going to try to keep things updated here.  I have been pretty good with my other blog.  If there is anyone reading this besides me, feel free to check out my Goodreads profile I tend to be a little more active with that especially since it's now connected to Facebook.

Precious Burdens

AMAZING!!! I think this definitely qualifies as one of my all time favorite books!!! I love this book so much!!! I think the reason why I love it so much is the fact that I can relate so well to the main character, Emily.  While this is technically a novella, the emotion and everything that happens in it can easily be considered a full length novel.  I love it!!!  It is definitely my go to book when I am feeling somewhat upset or just need a good book.  I would recommend it to anyone!!!

For Time and All Absurdity

I finished another wonderful book by Robert Farrell Smith.  I have really enjoyed the past few books I've read.  This one is pretty basic and covers a large amount of time.  The story is told by Ian Smith, and is basically about his obsession with Browywn Innaway from elementary school on.  It was really a cute story.  Not too much to make it stand out but I don't feel like I wasted my time with it.  I think I'm out of this current phase.  I'm kind of feeling a little more Jane Austenish now so we'll see what book is next.

Love's Labors Tossed

Ah the exciting end to the Trust Williams Trilogy!!!  Thankfully, the entire cast of characters meet together to sum up this amazing conclusion!!!  Trust and Grace go back to Thelma's Way only to be followed by Leonard Vastly.  As if the town weren't crazy enough, Leonard adds a little bit of spice to the town.  In addition to all the old characters, there is a new one who causes all sorts of trouble for Trust and Grace... Hope aka Cindy, Miss Cravitz's niece.  I could go on forever but I don't want to spoil the end for anyone but I would definitely recommend this entire trilogy to anyone.

On a side note... I am not entirely sure but I believe that Bitten, also by Robert Farrell Smith, is the combination of the first two books in this trilogy, All is Swell and Falling for Grace.  I may be mistaken but it appears to be that way.

Falling for Grace

I was able to finally finish Falling for Grace today.  I absolutely loved it!  It is probably one of the funniest books I have read in a long time.  This book continues where All is Swell left off.  Elder Trust Williams is home from his mission.  Missing Thelma's Way, he returns and brings Grace Heck with him to Southdale.  Many of the memorable characters from the first one appear again as Trust's father journeys to Thelma's Way in search of the Book of Mormon signed by Parley P. Pratt.  In addition, there is the extremely wacky new characters from Trust's home ward.  One of my favorites is probably Leonard Vastly.  This book actually had a true plot line and was pretty much one of the most entertaining books I've read in a long time.  I can't wait to finish up this trilogy!

Sorry

I know I haven't posted for a while but life has been super crazy.  I am still working on Falling for Grace and it is probably one of the funniest books I've read in a while.  Anyway, I promise to have it done soon (hopefully before my trip next week) and give my review.

All Is Swell

So I'm not keeping up as well as I could but since it's finals weeks I'm going to use that excuse.  I was able to finish reading All is Swell by Robert Farrell Smith.  I really enjoyed this book.  It was pretty light hearted but at the same time, there were some deeper meanings within it.  The story follows Trust Williams on his mission in Thelma's Way, Tennessee.  Of course, this can't just be a normal mission... there are many adventures including the centennial pageant that takes over a year to plan and prepare for.  And there are always the various companions that make the story just a little more interesting.  Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it was fun to read and I hope the rest of the trilogy is as entertaining.

Bullies in the Headlights

I just finished Bullies in the Headlights.   This was the sequel to Chickens in the Headlights.   Again this book follows the travels of the Buckley brothers, told from Matthew's perspective.  This book is more heartwarming than I thought it would be.  The story involves the trials that arise from the being bullied by the Hagbarts.  Matthew makes a new friend named Allen and with him the adventures rise to a whole new level.  This book actually taught me a lot and I feel somewhat of a better person from the things I learned from reading this book.  I would definitely recommend this for all ages to read.

Chickens in the Headlights

I was able to finish reading Chickens in the Headlights on Saturday night.  I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.  The basic story line is about a family consisting of seven rowdy boys under the age of ten.  During summer vacation, the parents decide to teach their boys the value of work by getting chickens for the boys to take care of.  Of course, this adventure is much more than they planned on.  The story is told from the perspective of Matthew, the second of the seven boys.  Along with his brothers Simon, Peter, John, Jacob, Christopher, and Robin, they get into some of the funniest adventures.  People of all ages will enjoy this book especially those who have grown up with siblings, boys or girls.  Awesome read and fairly quick and simple.

Welcome!

For those of you who are not familiar with me in my younger years... I have always had an addiction to reading.  My grandpa Atwood was an elementary school principal who from a very early age instilled in me the importance of an education.  Things were only made worse when at the age of three, my parent's discovered I could read and had not just memorized the books we already had.  From then on, I have been reading like a madman.  I love reading and always have a few books on my long list to read.  My hope is that by creating this blog, I can hopefully keep better track of the books I've read and not waste time rereading.  Anyway, it's late but I guess all I can say is welcome to my world of books!
